Chad R. Regelin

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician First Class (EWS/PJ) Chad R. Regelin was born on May 30, 1987 in Redding, California. He attended Anderson High School, where he graduated in June of 2005. Chad entered active duty on May 16, 2006 and reported for Recruit Training at Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of Recruit Training and basic EOD qualification at Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), he reported to EOD Mobile Unit THREE in Coronado, California.  

In February 2008, he made his first combat deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in Rawah, Iraq assigned as an EOD response team member on Platoon 3-3-1. Upon returning from Iraq, he qualified as an EOD Special Operations Team Leader and was assigned to Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A) Platoon 3-4-1. Upon returning from deployment, Chad immediately volunteered for re-deployment as a Special Operations Team Leader in Afghanistan with CJSOTF-A Platoon 3-7-1. Chad was an outstanding leader and exceptional EOD Technician. This was EOD1 Regelin’s third combat deployment.  

EOD1 Regelin has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal with “V” Device, Purple Heart Medal, Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 3 stars, NATO Medal, Navy Expert Rifleman Medal, and Navy Expert Pistol Medal.  

EOD1 Chad Regelin is survived by his parents Scott and Shirene Regelin, sister Jillanne Graham, and brothers Justin and Ryan Regelin.
