EODWF Achieves Accreditation from BBB

Bluemont, VA – May 12, 2015 – The EOD Warrior Foundation (EODWF) achieved accreditation by the BBB Wise Giving Alliance by meeting key standards of board oversight, finances, results reporting and fundraising appeals. This accreditation signifies that the EODWF is deserving of donor trust, as they are a well-run nonprofit organization.

“This is an exciting time for the EOD Warrior Foundation.  We are committed to honesty and transparency with our donors and the EOD community, and this is one more way that we can provide that.  We are honored to have achieved this level of accreditation,” says Nicole Motsek, EOD Warrior Foundation Executive Director.

The BBB Wise Giving Alliance (BBB WGA) is the nation’s only comprehensive charity evaluator, assisting donors in making sound giving decisions. Donors know they can trust a charity if it is accredited by the BBB WGA.  Their broad standards go beyond what the law requires and dives deeper than other charity monitoring organizations.  Each BBB WGA charity report process involves a rigorous review using 20 holistic BBB Charity Standards, interaction with charity officials about corrective actions needed to address deficiencies, and quality control measures to assure report accuracy. Thousands of charities have reports available to the public at Give.org.

The EOD Warrior Foundation serves the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) community and strives to improve the quality of life for wounded EOD warriors and their families and EOD Gold Star families by providing emergency financial relief, scholarship opportunities, physical, social, and emotional support.  The immediate and ongoing assistance and resources provided by the foundation to those in the EOD community are intended to provide support above and beyond the budgetary constraints of the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

 The EOD Warrior Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and believes that the EOD family is for life. Our ongoing mission is to disarm the challenges of the EOD family by providing our support with compassion and caring to every individual we serve.

BBB Wise Giving Alliance (BBB WGA) is a standards-based charity evaluator that seeks to verify the trustworthiness of nationally-soliciting charities by completing rigorous evaluations based on 20 holistic standards that address charity governance, effectiveness reporting, finances, fund raising, appeal accuracy, and other issues. National charity reports are produced by the BBB WGA and local charity reports are produced by local Better Business Bureaus – all reports are available at Give.org.
