Dear EOD Caregiver Parents,

The EOD Warrior Foundation is extending a special invitation to Caregiver Parents to attend an all-inclusive healing retreat the weekend of February 28th – March 1st, 2015. We understand that your journey from the time you received the news that your child had been injured until now has been life changing. We recognize that the effects of war affect the entire family and have a strong belief that a retreat focused on our Caregiver Parents will be valuable to you. In an effort to expand our outreach and programming we are hosting four retreats in 2015. These include retreats for caregiver parents, caregiver spouses, EOD Gold Star Widows and EOD Gold Star Parents. Planning is still ongoing for our exact dates and locations for the remaining three 2015 retreats. We were honored to hold two retreats in 2014 for 12 Caregiver Spouses and 14 Gold Star Widows. Both of the retreats were incredibly valuable to the participants; a unique healing experience and we are proud to say that these participants have created a lasting bond and still communicate with one another today. It is our hope to continue expanding our programming to our EOD family in coming months and years.

We are proud of the partnership we have with a non-profit organization called Courage Beyond, because we feel their organization best meets our needs and their mission aligns well with what the EOD Warrior Foundation stands for: keeping families together and providing an opportunity for your healing process, focusing on you! Courage Beyond specializes in retreats focusing on our military family, and we are very excited to be working with them to create a memorable and purposeful experience for you.

Here is further explanation of the Courage Beyond retreat philosophy: Courage Beyond offers numerous therapeutic rehabilitative events and coping skills retreats throughout the year. These events and retreats foster healing and support for both family members and warriors. A typical event lasts from two to four days and involves counseling, assessment, coping skills training, rehabilitative efforts and group support.

Our timeline for the retreat is tight and does require that you fill out an application. The link is provided here: http://couragebeyond.org/services-2/retreat-eod/ This EOD Warrior Caregiver Parent Retreat is limited to 12 slots. Please understand that once you have been accepted to attend the retreat, it is a commitment on your part. In the event your circumstances change after filling out an application, please contact us to let us know. The EOD Warrior Foundation is funding the retreat, meaning no expense to you, to include travel to and from the retreat, meals and all materials. The retreat will be held in the beautiful Blueridge Mountains at Boulder Crest Retreat in Bluemont, VA.
