2016 EOD Warrior Foundation Family Retreat - NC

Dear EOD Families,

The EOD Warrior Foundation is extending a special invitation to EOD Families to attend an all-inclusive retreat the week of May 15-20, 2016. This opportunity is open to EOD families to include Gold Star families, Wounded Warrior families, or any EOD family who may be struggling with visible or invisible wounds of war. The outreach is intended for active duty, retired, reserve and prior service EOD families.

We are pleased to partner with Eagle Rock Camp to facilitate this retreat.  It will be held in Boomer, NC at the YMCA Camp Harrison. Each family will enjoy their own bunkhouse, recreational activities, therapeutic workshops and so much more.  This retreat is open to ten (10) EOD families and the application deadline is February 15, 2016.  The link to apply is here:

We recognize that the effects of war impact the entire family and we have a strong belief that a retreat focused on the family is very important.  Please consider taking the time to bond and reconnect with your loved ones on this retreat.

We are fortunate to expand our retreat programming for the EOD family in 2016 and are pleased to partner with a non-profit organization called Eagle Rock Camp.  The Chief Executive Camper, Lynn Marilla explains their philosophy and mission:

Eagle Rock Camp reconnects military families at holistic retreats that are therapeutic; build healthy spirits and strong family bonds.   Our family centric program includes interactive workshops, therapeutic recreation, traditional camp activities and fun!

Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, our site is secluded, peaceful and includes gorgeous views. Amenities / activities include canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, high and low ropes courses, swimming, pony rides for the kids, and much more. You are encouraged to participate, as you are comfortable to do so.We have three rules at our retreats:  there is no rank at camp, what happens at camp stays at camp and the most important rule of all: have fun!

Our entire Team is looking forward to meeting you and your family!

This EOD Warrior Family Retreat is limited to 10 families.  Please understand that upon acceptance to attend the retreat, it is a commitment on your part. The generosity of our donors is what makes the retreats possible, and we continue to be good stewards of how we utilize our precious resources and funds.  In the event your circumstances change after filling out an application, please contact us to let us know. The EOD Warrior Foundation is funding the retreat, meaning no expense to you, to include travel to and from the retreat, meals and all materials.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions:  Sherri Beck, sherri@eodwarriorfoundation.org or 540-429-5234.

Please take time to consider this wonderful opportunity. I look forward to receiving your application. Please submit by February 15, 2016.
